Evidence note · 22 October 2026. Original filing access remains blocked in this research.
What was found
An original BSE attachment associated with the reported 21 October State Bank of India disclosure was located. It returned HTTP 403, so this resource has not independently read its contents.
The Internet Freedom Foundation’s contemporaneous discussion reports a preliminary review involving some confirmed customer records within a larger claimed dataset. Those details are attributed reporting. This site does not equate a dataset’s advertised size with a verified number of compromised accounts, and does not host or collect leaked data.
What this does not establish
The retrieved evidence does not settle the intrusion mechanism, complete affected population, customer-specific impact, credential exposure or notification status. It does not identify a software version for customers to patch. Those questions need the underlying filing and authenticated bank communications.
A useful response for customers
If an unexpected message contains convincing personal or loan details, those details do not authenticate the sender. Open your bank’s established application or use a contact route you already trust to verify a request. Do not use a phone number, payment link or new application supplied by the suspicious message.
If you observe suspicious transactions or account activity, use the bank’s normal fraud-reporting and account-protection process. Keep the time and message evidence privately. This is general anti-fraud practice, not a claim that every SBI customer was affected by this disclosure.
A useful response for investigators
Keep the reported claim, the underlying source and independently verified findings in different fields. Record how the original document was obtained, its publication time and what it actually asserts. Do not download an advertised customer leak merely to fill a gap in a public briefing.
Before changing this note’s status, obtain the original filing from an authenticated exchange or issuer channel and read the relevant passages. Record any subsequent customer notice separately. Until then, the filing details remain reported rather than primary-verified here.
